Christmas Crafting

Well I have been very busy at Kelly's Enchanted Castle HQ getting ready for my upcoming Christmas events.

I have been busy working on a number of new products from cards to decorations and more, so I thought I would share with you all what I have been busy doing over the past few days and weeks, and with another crafty session planned with my close friend and fellow small business owner, so it is all go go go at the minute.

Firstly I have some lovely stocking fillers for the kiddies and adults too
here we have some
Reindeer Noses

Santa Kisses

Elf Kisses

Another of my new products for this year is
Magic Santa Keys

I also thought of doing some Handmade Christmas Decorations again as they were popular last year but wanted something different so here they are, I have done 4 different ones so far with more to do

I have personalised Santa letters also available on my Facebook page these were very popular last year as well so I have done them again this year but with new designs, not only have I done the letters but also done good boy and girl certificates, agreement with Santa and even Nice List certificates.

I wanted to do something special for all the angel mummies and daddies too and I am donating £1 from each sale of these to Staffordshire Sands

In Memory Of Your Baby

These all consist of a poem, a feather either in pink, blue or white and a snowflake decoration in pink, blue and silver, these will make lovely little keepsakes.

So there you have it, and I'm still not close to being done as I still have some more cards, decorations,Santa keys, stocking fillers, hair accessories to do and I will post these up once they are complete

All of the above can be purchased through my Facebook page

Facing My Fear

On 31st October 2013 at around 4pm, I faced my Fear of Spiders I did this as a sponsored event to raise money for Staffordshire Sands, Not your typical face your fear, the spider (Fluffy) was going on my FACE!!!

I know not everyone has heard of Sands so here is a little about what Sands is Staffordshire Sands are a local support group who can offer emotional support and practical help if your baby has died during pregnancy, at birth or shortly afterwards.

Sands three main aims are:

Support: Support for anyone affected by the death of a baby.Improving Care: Information for professionals caring for bereaved families.Prevention and Research: Working to reduce stillbirths and neonatal deaths
.

I had been building up to this important event for weeks, and as the days got closer the more nervous I got as I HATE spiders lol, so the day came and with the help of Dale who owns and runs Critterish Allsorts, he helped me to make this happen along with Fluffy.

A little about Dale and his wonderful critters at Critterish Allsorts, Dale offers a number of different things from attending children's Birthday parties with his critters too pet therapy and much more, the work and commitment Dale puts into all this is superb. Dale also owns 2 beautiful Skunks who are Stoosh and Skittles, I have had the pleasure to meet both of these beautiful girls and all of his other critters. You can find Critterish Allsorts on Facebook and if you click on the Critterish Allsorts pic above it will take you to the website.

So my goal was to overcome my fear of spiders, with the help of Fluffy a Chile Rose Tarantula
Meet Fluffy

Dale advised me to hold Fluffy first to see how I felt and to see if I was comfortable enough, so I went ahead with it and here I am holding Fluffy

So after a couple of minutes Dale asked if I was ok to go on and of cause I said YES!! So the next stage and the main ultimate goal was to have Fluffy on my face.
So here we go she is on my face.

I DID IT I FACED MY FEAR!!!

You can also watch it for yourself  Face My Fear

I even got a lovely surprise and treat, Dale not only come along with Fluffy but he had Skittles with him so I got lovely Skunky Cuddles after YAY!!

Dale even took the time to do me a certificate for doing it and I couldn't have been more happy and proud,

Dale, The Mayor Of Kidsgrove Kyle and Me

If it wasn't for Dale talking to me to keep me calm and making the odd little joke along the way I don't know what I would have done Thank You So Much to everyone for the sponsors and support and to those who could make it and see it in person. A very big thank you to Dale for all his help and encouragement, Thank you to Fluffy for being kind to me lol!! and Thankies to Skittles for the much needed cuddles.

 Have fun everyone!

Here is my make for this weeks challenge
I have used the following Digi's: Gates Of Hell, Digits, Horrorscope-Capricorn,

Open the gates of hell to see inside mwahahahaha!!!

I first started off by choosing the digi's I wanted, I then resized them and printed them off, once printed and the ink had dried I then began to colour my images in using Promarkers the colours I have used are: Gates of hell - Pastel Beige, Khaki, warm grey 3, Berry red and orange. Digits: Khaki. Horrorscope Capricorn: Khaki. Gravestone Scene: Warm Grey 1 and 3.

Once they were all coloured I then cut out all of my images and decoupaged up parts that I wanted to be 3d like the Horrorscope image, and some of the gravestones, now all this was done I then added the Digits image onto either side of the gates by adding 3d foam pads and curling them around the gates to make it look like something wanted to open them.

Now the gates were complete I then took the Pile O Bones backing paper and stuck this down on the front of a blank 8x8 card then added my decoupaged Capricorn image and then the gravestone scene on top of this.

I then scored along the edge of each side of the gates and stuck this done either side so that the gates could then be opened to show inside of them.

I have really gone out of my comfort zone again with this make as I wanted it to be scary and I'm sure you will agree it is, It is surprising how well using more than one digital image can make as you can see here with my inspiration make. I hope you all have just as much fun with this challenge as I have had, so come on let your creepy horror scary side out and have fun.

Good luck all

Special Memorial Keepsake

Hello all well I have some very special keepsake memorial cards to share with you all.

I was recently asked by an old school friend/repeat customer to make her 4 memorial bookatrix keepsake cards for herself and 3 family members which were cousin, brother, son and nephew. I have already made such a thing for her in the past a memorial keepsake of her mum, so when she asked me to do her 4 in memory of her cousin I was highly honoured to do them for her.

Everything she asked me to do I have done, from the colours of the keepsakes the pictures she chose which I edited with her cousin's name date of birth and the date of his passing, the finishing touches (skull and crossbones) the skull and crossbones is a Digi stamp designed by Teri at Delicious Doodles  including the verses, I did the verses and then sent them to her for her approval to which she was over the moon with I also did an added extra for her which was to put her cousins name down the centre of the ribbon.

I also agreed to send her pictures via a message once they were complete and her response was second to known, this is what she had to say about them "Kelly they are amazing and absolutely amazing, thank you again you are an absolute star." she also said "They are absolutely perfect sweet, Love em :) got a lump in my throat."

So here they are

I was over the moon with her response as we did have a few problems along the way of getting them done and when they were the first time, she admitted to a mistake she had made of the day of his passing, so I re-edited the pictures, re-printed them and then replaced them on the keepsakes.

The end product I could not have been more happy with even though we did have a few problems which were soon sorted, she has even said she will recommend me to her family and make sure they know who has made them and is passing on my details. The one thing I have been asked is to not put them on Facebook as of yet, as 3 of them are a surprise for her family members once they have seen them they will then be added to my customer order album on Facebook, so others can see what I have done.

Even though it was such a sad occasion to be doing a keepsake for I still enjoyed doing it as it was made easy for me as the customer knew exactly what she wanted and that is what she got plus a bit more, as a lot of love care and thought went into each and everyone of them.

Sponsored Face My Fear

Hello all again

As promised a post about what I have been busy organising, well here goes as some of you know I am the Fundraiser for Staffordshire Sands which is a Stillbirth and Neonatal death charity. I decided to raise some funds for this wonderful charity by facing my fear!!!

So what is my fear????
Well my fear is of them 8 legged freaks...... Yes you guessed it SPIDERS!!!! ewwwww.

I must be mad!!! Not only am I going to do this to raise funds but I am going one step further than just holding the Chile Rose Tarantula called Fluffy, she is going on my face!!! OMG!!!!. This was my decision to have her on my face as I hope it will bring in plenty of sponsors.

My fear is that bad I can't even stand a money spider how silly is that lol, I freeze when I see them, Even though I have seen Fluffy before even looking at her in her Viv it makes me feel sick and I feel itchy and generally YUCK!!!.

So with the help of Dale, from Critterish Allsorts I am going to FACE MY FEAR!!! I am so determined to do this, I don't know if I'm excited to do it or nervous lol.

This is taking place on Thursday 31st October 2013 Yes Halloween lol.
Pictures will be taken on the day of me doing this and I will once again blog about it and share the pictures on here and Facebook.

If you would like to sponsor me then please do let me know and I can tell you how you can do this, all sponsors will be really appreciated, on behalf of all the committee members for Staffordshire Sands THANK YOU!!!
